Five Minute Christian : 3

I chose to stand before God
in a quiet place
and closed my eyes.
I stopped praying
and just listened.
I imagined myself on the phone to God
allowing Him time to communicate with me
by His Holy Spirit
and His still, small voice.
It's amazing how much can be said
in five minutes.

Five Minute Christian : 2

I am so busy.
There's the washing
screaming to be put on.
The carpets need vacuuming,
the bathrooms are waiting,
and the weeds in the garden
seem to have grown bigger
suddenly.
A friend rings,
emails need checking,
and a book needs editing.
Homework must be helped with,
dinner prepared and cooked,
and a meeting attended.
There are twenty four hours in one day.
Sixty minutes in an hour.
One thousand, four hundred and forty minutes
each day.
God asked me for five.

Five Minute Christian : 1

God asked me to spend time with Him
Each day
Just five minutes
Being with Him
Not praying
Just being with Him
Not talking to Him
But listening to what He might say to me
And allowing His Holy Spirit to fill me afresh

Word recieved 1.5.2012

The Lord says I am not pleased with the sacrifice of your lips
when your hearts are far from me.
I am not pleased with your outward show
when your heart is not toward me.
Do not be like the Pharisees who loved
the praise of men more than me.
Be like my Son in the laying down of your lives for each other.
Do not try to gain access to my presence through your works
for you have access by the work of my Son.
You can do nothing to add to it,
 nothing to change it,
 nothing to fulfil it.
 It is finished.
Do not look to yourselves to see how well you are doing
But look to my Son and follow Him.
