Do Not Drift

Do not drift away from Me,
for the currents would take you
to a different shore,
than the one I am on.

I am preparing food
for you to eat with Me,
to have unhurried time together,
to talk and listen
to each others hearts.

I long for you
to make Me known
in others lives,
but you need to know Me
first
so you do not offer
a pale reflection
of who I truly am.

I long to spend the day
with you,
allowing warm sand
to run between your toes
and Mine,
and to plan for future days
together.

I long to hold you
for a holy moment,
so you know
you are forever held.

Do not drift away
from Me,
but move towards Me
on the shore.
